This workshop will be happening at the Rubenstein Arts Center, Makerspace

About the workshop:

In this workshop you will get a holistic view of the Architecture industry, from project design to construction close-out and all the steps in between. Various immersive hands-on design activities will be incorporated to help facilitate this process and the participants’ understanding of this highly complex and often misunderstood discipline.

About the instructor:

William H. Dodge has a deep understanding of the ‘arts’, 'research', ‘innovation’, ‘entrepreneurship’ and ‘learning' program types. His professional experience has ranged from owner to designer to manufacturer and seemingly everything in-between. An award-winning researcher, William has a propensity for innovation and a seemingly inexhaustible enthusiasm for intriguing possibilities which often manifest themselves in unexpected but insightful ways.

Jesse Green has a focus on community, collaboration and innovation spaces which is stemmed from his 10+ years of work as a project architect and lead designer on a wide variety of project types. His designs are deeply rooted in contextual understanding. Jesse's diverse architecture experience, complemented by his undergraduate background in the fine arts, informs his creative and detail-oriented approach to helping clients define their goals and achieve a successful project.

Austin Chappell is an Architectural Designer and recent graduate from NC State’s College of Design. His background includes the design of numerous community and maker-focused spaces nationally. In addition to having an interest in spaces that bring people together, Austin has a particular focus on Manufacturing in Architecture and how such efforts might better (and more sustainably) inform the built environment globally.
