This workshop will be held in the Rubenstein Arts Center, Makerspace.

About the workshop:

In this 2 hour workshop we will look at examples of zines from the past to present, as well as make a zine altogether. A zine is essentially a self-published, non-commercial magazine, usually on an unconventional subject matter. Using collage & drawing materials, participants will make pages for a zine with a general theme of ‘concern’; could be significant or insignificant concerns, no rules. After the course, the zine will be printed and available for pick up at a later date.

About the instructor:
Orvokki Crosby is an artist & owner of The Concern Newsstand, a curated web store bookstore, with brick & mortar spaces at Lump Gallery in Raleigh & at Attic 506 in Chapel Hill. The Concern Newsstand is a 2 year old project/ business with a selection of artist books, zines, comic books, art books & hard to find magazines.
