About the workshop:
Come make your very own woven wall hanging to decorate your dorm room or apartment! Students will be provided with a mini loom and selection of yarns. Together we will work through some simple weaving stitches and at the end of the workshop students will take home their finished weaving - ready to hang!
About the instructor:
Anna Wallace is a current resident and native of Durham, North Carolina. She holds a BFA in Ceramics from the Cleveland Institute of Art, and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Teaching has become an integral part of Anna’s artistic practice. She teaches at UNCG, High Point University, and is the Lead Visual Arts Instructor at the North Carolina Governor’s School West.
In addition to Anna’s studio art practice, she designs and creates several collections of sustainably produced products. The pottery collection is made to seamlessly integrate into any existing kitchen, yet has a unique whimsical quality. The garment collection embraces slow fashion. Each item is sewn entirely from locally sourced vintage and remnant textiles - down to the thread.
